Formerly D.A. Kurt Insurance Brokers, Medallion has over 50 years of experience in the competitive insurance industry. Long time advocates of First Responder Associations, Medallion currently provides service to over 35 Police, Firefighter and RCMP Associations from all corners of Ontario representing over 10,000 members.

Meet The Team

Sarah Heiser

Director, Group Partnerships

Sarah is a licensed insurance broker with more than 20 years in the insurance industry. Sarah has extensive experience managing teams spanning from Group Insurance to Mutual Insurance, to Marketing and Branding.

Sarah values community involvement; having volunteered with National Service Dogs, Waterloo Region Food Bank, and various youth mental health initiatives.

Sarah maintains designations as a Certified Insurance Professional and Risk Management Certificate.

Joey McRae

Personal Lines & Group Sales Manager

Joey is a licensed insurance broker with more than 20 years in the insurance industry. He has extensive experience managing personal lines teams. Joey prides himself on being a strong advocate for all client’s needs.

Joey is actively involved in the community and gives back as a volunteer minor hockey coach. In his free time he can always be found at an arena.

Alex Sasic

Account Executive

Alex is a Registered Insurance Broker with over 15 years of experience working exclusively in group insurance for First Responders. Alex thrives on finding the proper insurance coverage to protect your home and auto. Problem solving is an area Alex excels at. Alex has spent most of his career at Medallion (formerly D.A. Kurt), providing excellent service to our members and finding out solutions to every unique risk that comes across his desk.

Beki Bergeron

Account Executive

Beki is a Registered Insurance Broker with 20-years of experience in the Insurance Industry. Through her years in the business, Beki has gained experience in a range of roles ranging from independent broker to sales management. Beki’s goal is to ensure that your insurance purchase is as painless as possible. She is known for her extensive knowledge of our products and willingness to do all she can to provide you with the best customer service possible.

Beki backs up her extensive insurance continuing education courses with a B.A. (Hons) in political science.

Jay Aquino

Account Executive

Jay is a registered insurance broker with over 35 years of experience in personal lines insurance.

Jay’s goal is to tailor the insurance policy to the individual client’s need, while still providing the best coverage and rates.

Jay developed his knowledge of insurance working alongside his father, operating their family insurance brokerage in Northwestern Ontario. From there, he joined McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers where he has spent the last 17 years providing exceptional customer service to his clients.
