Thank you to everyone who engaged, shared, and applied to our 2023 Medallion May 6K Community Giveaway!

2023 marks the third year of the Medallion May 6K Community Giveaway, and with close to 30 applications, the increased need for funding support across the province was truly evident.

We are happy to support these worthy projects with our goal to invest in community initiatives that foster safe, inclusive, resilient and sustainable communities.

Thank you to all First Responders for your courageous service in your communities and for allowing us this small opportunity to show our gratitude.

Without further ado, please read on to see the recipients!

Camp Molly

We are happy to announce Deanna Kerwin of the Rural Fire Service (Oxford County) as the first recipient of our 2023 May 6K Community Giveaway!

She’s requested that our donation go towards Camp Molly – a not-for-profit organization that runs fire services camps to empower young women in our local communities across the province. We‘re honoured to help Camp Molly continue to operate at no cost to the participants.

Guelph Police Service – Intimate Partner/Domestic Violence Support

Congratulations to Ashley McArthur and the Guelph Police Service, our next funding recipients!

They will receive a donation to put towards their initiative of supporting and ensuring the health and safety of families experiencing violence in the City of Guelph and surrounding area.

York Regional Police – Victim Services of York Region

Congratulations to Gary McBride and the York Regional Police who will receive Medallion May 6K Community Giveaway funding!

They‘ve asked that our donation be put towards Victim Services of York Region, an organization that does amazing work to provide human trafficking victims with basic necessities, food, clothing and medical care as they get back on their feet.

Oxford County VON – Adult Change Tables

Shout out to Robyn Mongelli from VON Oxford County, the recipient of our Employee Choice Award, which was determined completely by our Medallion team members!

VON provides a variety of community-based programs and services for seniors and specialized populations. They are looking to purchase an Adult Change Table to meet the growing needs of their clients and their caregivers, which our donation will help to provide.

Hamilton Police Service – Anti-Hate Campaign

Our next funding recipient is Sergeant Amandeep Kaur Gill and the Hamilton Police Service. We‘re thrilled to share that our donation will help contribute to the facilitation of their Strategic Initiatives Branch‘s anti-hate campaign!

Their goal is to arrange events throughout the City of Hamilton to raise awareness about reporting and coping with hate crimes.

RCMP Veterans Association – Grave Site Maintenance

Last but certainly not least, the final recipient of our 2023 May 6K Community Giveaway is Rick Morris and the RCMP Veterans Association (Toronto Division).

With our donation, their organization will continue to visit the graves of former members of the RCMP to ensure that they are clean, readable, and the locations are recorded so they can be found in the future. We‘re grateful to help support such an extraordinary mission.

Congratulations to each of this year’s Medallion May 6K Community Giveaway Recipients!

All recipients will be contacted soon to coordinate the delivery of our donation.
